Newport-Mesa Unified School District Announces Director of Maintenance and Operations

Newport-Mesa Unified School District (NMUSD) announces the addition of Mr. Lance Bidnick as the director of maintenance and operations.

Mr. Bidnick has more than 24 years of experience in public education, serving in a variety of roles including School Facility Planning Specialist with the San Diego County Office of Education and Director of Maintenance, Operations and Transportation at Centralia Elementary School District. 

Most recently, Mr. Bidnick has been with Anaheim Union High School District as the director of maintenance and operations responsible for all aspects of maintaining facilities and improving operational efficiencies, as well as oversight of a $14 million budget.

His vast experience includes coordinating school maintenance departments and programs, establishing plans for building maintenance and repairs, administering contracts for professional services and managing the department’s safety training program, hazardous material management, waste management, and statutory compliance as related to building operations.  

Assistant Superintendent, Chief Operations Officer, Tim Holcomb said, “Lance has raised the bar for facilities maintenance in his previous districts. I am excited that he is bringing that expertise to benefit the students and staff of NMUSD.”

Mr. Bidnick obtained his Bachelor’s Degree from California State University, Fullerton, as well as a certification in School Business Management.

Mr. Bidnick will join the NMUSD team January 28, 2019.
