Newport-Mesa Announces Principal for Whittier Elementary School

Newport-Mesa Unified School District (NMUSD) is pleased to announce Mr. Randy Lempert was selected as principal of Whittier Elementary School. Mr. Lempert has ten years of experience as a site administrator, including six years as a principal. 


Mr. Lempert began his career as an elementary teacher, teaching English overseas to students in first through seventh grade. He has also taught fifth grade and English Language Development in grades sixth through eighth. Most recently he served as principal at Spring View Middle School in the Ocean View School District. He has provided leadership to the GATE and AVID programs, expanded elective offerings, and led the development of social-emotional lessons to address the needs of students.


Known for his positive outlook and ability to foster an inclusive community, Mr. Lempert focuses on building strong, trusting relationships with students, parents and staff. 


“Mr. Lempert’s strong leadership skills and ability to foster collaborative partnerships while maintaining high expectations and student outcomes, will no doubt serve the Whittier community well,” said Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education Mr. John Drake.


Mr. Lempert obtained his Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Concordia University and his Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Concordia College.  


Mr. Lempert will begin his new role on August 12, 2021.
