PLEASE NOTE:  Customary custodial fees beginning July 1, 2009, are $51.79/hour with a three-hour minimum.

During the Summer months, stadium lights will not be turned on until 7:00 pm.

Facility Use Permit

A Facility Use Permit is required for ALL ACTIVITIES taking place on District Facilities during non-school hours (after regular school hours, weekends and holidays). 

ALL APPLICANTS SHOULD READ THE “Use of Facilities Under the Civic Center Act Rules and Regulations” BEFORE SUBMITTING A REQUEST.

  • Be sure that all required information is included in request details.

  • MUST include dates and times of use, estimated attendance and contact information for the individual requesting the permit.

  • Outside organizations MUST have a Certificate of Insurance for 1 million dollars accompanied by an Additional Insured Endorsement, listing N-MUSD as additional insured, on file in the Facilities Department prior to the first requested event date or the request will not be approved.

  • All invoiced fees MUST be paid at least (7) days prior to the first requested event date.  Event requests may be cancelled/denied due to non-payment.

Important Reminders:

  • The Facilities Department does not calendar site facilities. Each school site is responsible for calendaring events and making sure there are no conflicts.

  • During the summer, when schools are closed, the Facilities Department will not approve requests for usage during the upcoming school year, but may occasionally approve a permit for the use of a (Newport Beach site) field.

  • Requests submitted less than (21) days prior to the event may not get approved.

  • Invoices must be paid prior to the first requested date of event.

  • School sites keep their own calendars.

  • FAX permits are not acceptable.

City Agreements

City of Costa Mesa

The City of Costa Mesa is the agency responsible for reserving sports/athletic fields for all NMUSD sites located in the city of Costa Mesa, beginning at 4:00 pm at the elementary and intermediate schools and after 5:00 pm at the high schools during the school year, and exclusively during weekends, holidays, and school breaks.  Please review the Joint Use Agreement between N-MUSD and the City of Costa Mesa.
