    Transitional Kindergarten

    Newport-Mesa Unified School District offers a Transitional Kindergarten program. Transitional Kindergarten is the first year of a two-year program that uses a modified kindergarten curriculum that is age and developmentally appropriate.  A child is eligible to enroll for Transitional Kindergarten if he/she turns five (5) years old between September 2 and April 2 within the current school year. 

    For the 2023-2024 school year, your child is eligible to enroll in Transitional Kindergarten if his/her birthdate falls between:

    • September 2, 2018 to April 2, 2019
